Evening at the Cinema: Addicted to Sheep

The documentary Addicted to Sheep follows a family working as tenant farmers in the High Pennines of northern England over an eighteen-month period. Coming from an agriculture background herself, filmmaker Magali Pettier (Provenance Films) wanted to explore the reasons that families choose to farm today. A passion for beautiful sheep and wool is something that most handspinners, both rural and urban, can appreciate.

The film was supported in part by a successful crowd-funding campaign that helped to spread the word about the project, which now has a dedicated following. A preview at the Gala Theatre in Durham coincided with Chinese New Year celebrations to welcome the 2015 Year of the Sheep. Find out more at the film's website, www.addictedtosheep.com.
