Distracted Spinning Is Actually More Productive

 

 

NoneWith a simple handspindle and a bit of fiber, you can make yarn waiting at the train crossing, standing in line at the grocery store, walking to the local park, sitting in a meeting. You can make enough yarn for a pair of mittens or a cuddly scarf without missing a beat. Do the math: An average knitted scarf = 400 yards of yarn. An average distracted spinner can spin 3 yards of yarn a minute on a hand spindle. Ergo, one scarf = 2 hours and 15 minutes’ worth of spinning. (Assuming you spin a soft, fluffy singles that doesn’t have to be plied before knitting.) Just get the book, practice your skills, and do it!
